Sihui Lee. 29 January. Banker.

Well well well. My 2016 has been so far so good. Didnt feel as excited as usual; Probably because our Europe trip is departing in few days' time and I'm not fully prepared in term of itineraries etc. This trip is no longer than our Aussie trip of 22 days but I just felt too lazy to do anything. For the Aussie trip we went to 5 cities but with only the first city's itinerary done in sg while the rest was done at the airport while waiting for the next city's flight. Pretty impromptus and cool I would say but I think Europe has more things to do/see though.

Anyway, let's look back at 2015 first before 2016 flies too fast.

Work: I successfully switched industry - banking, which I never thought of entering when I was doing my degree. Sometimes I think I am quite mean/demanding to myself. I always like to push myself out of comfort zones to sth not me at all. Eg. work in hostel when I'm highly anti-social; Left education industry when I was a 'veteran' (7 years!), work in bank when I've zero banking knowledge. Probably my life experiences make me fearless for new adventures/challenges.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" - cant agree more.

Completed the super-compact-1.5mth training when only 50% are applicable to reality. And you're expected to asap pick up the other 50% yourself without being a burden to your colleague.
Completed 2 general insurance exams (BCP and PGI) in order to sell at branch (which benefit myself too). Been to 3 branches within 5 mth because my manager said I could adapt well. I hated it much; I kept re-learning due to different branches' practices. But you'll always grow and learn wherever you are which I actually did. Experienced CNY and SG50 crazy crowds! Managed to get an interview for HR dept but I screwed up though. But their personality and ability tests revealed that I'm suitable for operations side. Happy or doubtful? No idea. Nevertheless, I'm v happy to see my colleague everyday. Quote what my colleague said, "we're just like a mini sg". Hence, they are one of the main reasons why I stayed on (even though we see each other for at least 11 hours everyday!) It's like back to sec sch, you clicked perfectly with them and the lamest joke could last for days and weeks.

Love: The snowball of problems finally killed us. We were separated for 5 mths. Within that 5 mths, we found ourselves. We see 'I' and not just 'us'. Problems between us seemed to resolved by itself during that period and I somehow forgot all the negativism. This break was inevitable and I'm glad we went through all these to be sure of our future. Lastly, we are engaged! :D I love you, H.

Travel: Flew to new places like Krabi and Boracay. I will be back, Boracay! (despite of the dreadful 4 hours of air/land/sea transfer).

Regrets: I didnt manage to learn a third language because of my hectic working hours plus tuitions. I didnt manage to be toned and instead gained 2-3 kg :( Business proposal/plan done halfway only. Didnt blog enough to record my life. Didn't take good care of my phone and allowed it to be water damaged . Not only I'd to pay $550 for replacement, my Boracay pic were all gone :'{

Well, 2016 is a BIG year for both of us. Personal achievements shall be second as for now till Nov :)

You'll be another awesome year, 2016. And thank you, 2015.
