At the very start of the year, my hair was dyed to Ash Green. I didn't choose it. I just leave it to my hairdresser to decide and I was shocked after it's done but love it as it's so YOLO! Hahah
Few days later, we're on the plane to EUROPE! Actually, we didn expect ourselves to go Europe so soon. But because H was gg to Ireland for his degree so might as well hop on to tour Europe :) So we went to Paris France, London UK, Dublin Ireland. We saw all the landmarks that we should see. And shopped like a shopaholic for my last day in Paris, no kidding. I nv imagine myself able to carry handful of shopping bags from Chanel, LV, Prada, YSL! It felt surreal but satisfying hahahah But before we exit the mall, we took 2 huge long champs paper bags to hide all inside to avoid unnecessary attention on the train back to our Airbnb.
First time I boarded a plane myself. Everything was fine but was even better when my last flight was on SQ. It really felt homecoming after 2 weeks away from home and yet alone at that point. H and I were separated for 6 weeks. Not very long period, but in between he missed my bday and CNY. Furthermore, Dublin is not very Asia-friendly. Many of them were racists and we had several bad racist experiences. Nonetheless, made me reflect on being minority and helpless. After all, H was back safely :)
After one year of being a contracted staff, finally I'm offered a permanent position of Assistsnt Service Manager. Thank you thank you. Given more roles to do. Upgraded from non-signer to I-signer to current B-signer all in a year; from standing by the vault to turning the passcodes on the vault and entering the vault. From receiving knowledge to passing knowledge to juniors now. Looking back, I actually grew quite a lot over a year. But also many friends left the branch this year - May, Christine, KC, Doreen, Roshini and Cindy. The branch was not as lively as before. But I'm so glad a new BSM came in dec and changed all our lives. No one ever mentioned about quitting ever since she came. This is how important a good management is.
Once H was back and completed his degree, our wedding preparations started. Every weekends was to meet wedding vendors/buy wedding items/plan for wedding, at the same time, we're sourcing for IDs. Whenever I'm free, I would browse thru Pinterest. I don't rem if there's any weekends we're at home resting. Took a PS in Taiwan in May. After the 3-day PS, we or rather I ate as if wedding was over. Took SG PS in Aug. Proud that we didn't add on many photos.
In between, we took part in 5 races. Initially was hoping I could slowly start from 2.5km to 5km to 10km. But well, I'm still not convinced or motivated to do so. Hahaha but we went for all 5 races still in order to collect the medals that would form up into a Singapore map. Woohooo!
Edi and Munyee were married (ROM); Serene and Lionel were married; First time attending Malay Wedding; First time watching NDP (Preview) in our National Stadium. H fulfilled his small dream of becoming a driver. We had a Honda Vezel that we called Da Bai for 2-3 months. And H sacrificed his free time for Uber. And so inevitably, it's me doing all the planning.
Next, it's 16.10.16. We're married! FINALLY THE BIG DAY WAS OVER. Very grateful for all the assistances and love we received. It ended off with a wonderful and well-deserved 2 nights stay at MBS Bridal Suite. Our guests and families were very happy and satisfied, so did we. I don't mind gg back to MBS every year to celebrate our anniversary hehehe
Once the wedding was over, we literally chilled for everything. We didn't wanna do anything. We just wanna rest. But well, it's not up to us after all. Our home at Canberra was coming. And we've yet to decide on our IDs. So once again, weekends were burnt to meet IDs. Key collection was on 10.11.16. ID was confirmed one week before we collected keys. Till then, every weekends was to meet ID to discuss/shops to shops to buy all kinds of stuff for home/reviewing the work done at our home.
Everything was very smooth and good in the earlier part of 2016. I'm very grateful and worried at the same time because I know there're ups and downs. True enough, the downs came 2 weeks before my big day and it was a big crash. A fault that I nv expected myself to bear at work. I tot that was the worst and probably things would start to turn better again. But little did I know, it went bottomlessly down to a point I resort to prayers and took my first flower bath to wash all the bad lucks off. It definitely hit me very hard and left great disappointment in myself. But it also provided me a chance to see what kind of employee I am to my bosses and colleagues because they all helped me unconditionally instead of reprimanding me.
Sad parts aside, 2017 is coming in few hours! 2016 changed my martial status and home ownership status. 2017 will welcome our new living space and learn to be fully independent! Probably a new member joining our small Lee family ;) but before that I hope H and I get to travel more first! At least NZ, Korea and Maldives this year. Stay healthy and great everyone.
With love,
Mrs Lee Si Hui.
